6 relevant scriptures on the power of the tongue
1. Proverbs 18:20-21
“With the fruit of a man’s mouth his stomach will be satisfied; He will be satisfied with the product of his lips. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (NASB)
2. Colossians 4:6
“Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.” (NASB)
3. Ephesians 4:29
“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.” (NASB)
4. Matthew 15:11
“It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” (NASB)
5. Proverbs 10:19
“When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise.” (NASB)
6. Proverbs 15:1-2
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, but the mouth of fools spouts folly.” (NASB)
Did you know?
