We're doing something special.

We're doing something biblical.

The scriptures teach the youth of every generation how to keep their way pure.

Psalms 119:9 says this, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your Word.” (ESV)

This verse tells us that we guard (defend and protect) our “Way” (our lives) “According to the Word of God.” Which means that the Word of God actually teaches us how to live in a way that protects and defends our walk with Christ.

Yet many believers today, especially the youth of the church, are living ill-equipped, without any knowledge of the defense, protection, and spiritual success the Word of God outlines for them.

Consider the following verses:

Psalms 119:11 says, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. (NKJV)

This verse teaches us that hiding the Word of God in our hearts is a guard/defense against sin.

Ephesians 6:17 tells us this, “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” (NKJV)

This verse teaches us that the Word of God is our sword of the Spirit. And in Luke 4:1-13 Jesus demonstrates how we are to use this sword, which is the Word, against the temptations of the enemy.

We also see in 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV), Pauls charges Timothy a young man (1 Timothy 4:12) to, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Then, in Joshua 1:8 and Psalms 1:1-3, we find that the Lord commands His people to meditate on His Word and then gives us the spiritual benefits of meditating day and night.

Joshua 1:8 – “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” (NASB)

Psalms 1:1-3 – “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.” (NASB)

Now, these verses have highlighted some major TRUTHS.

We learn:

  • Hiding the Word of God in our hearts (memorizing scripture) is a guard against sin.
  • That the Written Word in our hearts (memorized scripture) can be used as a weapon against temptation as Jesus taught us in the gospels. (Matthew 4, and Luke 4
  • That the young in Christ should “Study to show themselves approved” (studying scripture) that they may not be ashamed and able to rightly divide the Word of God for themselves.
  • That meditating on the Word (scripture meditation) is commanded by God and makes our way prosperous and successful in spiritual matters, when we practice it day and night.

So simply put, our youth can learn to guard their way “according to the Word” by Memorizing, Studying, and Meditating on the Word of God.

Now, with the truth of scripture as our guide, and our own story (testimony) we have created a free bible workbook that will aid in teaching the youth of our generation their defense, protection, and spiritual success by daily practicing one or more of these disciplines in scripture.

And with it, we are equipping the next generation, to the glory of God!
