Clean Teen Fiction Book List

I don’t know about most people, but as for myself, I am constantly concerned about the content that the children in my home and homeschool classroom consume. And I do my best as a believer in Christ Jesus, to shepherd my students’ hearts toward content that will bless their growth in Christ Jesus, and guard their hearts against the schemes of the enemy.

One way that I accomplish these things is by teaching them what it really means to guard their hearts in Christ. I teach them these things through the Word of God and with a free bible workbook that I created for this very purpose. However, I also teach them practical everyday living tips like guarding their eyes (what they watch), their ears (the music and content they listen to), and their mouths (what they say; for it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles a man Matt. 15:17-19).

Books fall into both the category of what they hear and what they see, because we hear and imagine while consuming books. So, I teach my students to be extra careful and selective about the books they choose.

But I also help my students, by having a selection of clean teen fiction books readily available in our classroom library. And when I say clean teen fiction books, I mean books that do not have cursing (swear words), and what I call “lovey-dovey” content. In my opinion, “lovey-dovey” content is content that contains characters that are intimately involved or situations where teens or others are in relationships and/or physically involved in ANY way.

The books below are a list of books that I have either read and approved myself, or books that have been recommended to by other believers or christian organizations. Most of the books on the list below are on the book shelf in our homeschool classroom. I have placed a star (*) by books that I have read and approved myself. As I find and read more books, this list will grow!
